The St Edmundsbury Oak Swingseat is for those who have a long term plan for their garden; once in situ this swingseat is going nowhere !! When we say this we mean it in many ways. Firstly, being made from 100% partially seasoned oak, the wood is guaranteed for 40 years (although it will last significantly longer). Secondly, the significant size and weight of the product means we have to deliver and install it for you. Once in place, moving it would be a task of mammoth proportions. Finally, once in possession of the St Edmundsbury, you'll never want to let go of it. It will age gracefully with you and your garden, providing years of faithful service and the memories that come with it. This is indeed a swingseat, but, if you let it, it will become a family heirloom too
LARGE ADJUSTABLE CANOPY the adjustable canopy is made from willow within the oak framing, and provides a generous shade area of 237 x 168cm. The effect of the willow against the oak is charming, and quintessentially English
LARGE ARMS the generously proportioned arms leave plenty of room for your drink, as you gently sway back and forth in the replenishing shade
LARGE, ADJUSTABLE SEAT the large seating area (168cm) will comfortably provide room for 3 lucky occupants, or one person can recline it to their own preference
MORTICE AND TENON JOINTS wherever possible the structure uses mortice and tenon joints for its integrity. No short-cuts have been taken with the construction of this chair
GRACEFUL AGEING as with all our rustic oak products, the oak will develop its characteristic shakes and splits with the course of time. Some of these shakes and splits will be present at the time the swingseat is installed. Whilst most believe this to be an inherent beauty of the wood, this does mean it is not a product for everyone. PRICE INCLUDES DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION when you place your order we will get to work making your swingseat; this will take 15 days. Once complete, we will bring the seat to your premises in four sections and assemble it in your desired location. Naturally we will call you in advance to arrange the best day for us to arrive and carry out the installation
WE WILL NEED YOUR HELP we will need you to be at home when we arrive, so you can make sure we position the seat exactly where you want it. Our workman will be working for 2 hours assembling the swingseat, so the odd cup of tea would be much appreciated !! We also need the assembly area to be clear of obstructions, and the surface to be flat and suitable for this extremely heavy furniture
