SOLID PARTIALLY SEASONED OAK each piece is crafted from solid partially seasoned oak for optimum strength and durability. The surfaces are sanded to a beautiful smooth finish which accentuates the wonderful patterning and medullary rays within the wood
HAND-MADE USING TRADITIONAL JOINTING TECHNIQUES no metal fastenings or ties are used in the production of this crafted furniture; only mortise-and-tenon, dowels, pegs and lap joints are conducive to the strength and quality required by dense oak wood
CHARACTER COMES AS STANDARD oak is a dynamic material that changes form with the seasons. It develops splits and shakes is times passes, and some signs of these attributes can be present in the wood from the beginning. The furniture will not simply resist the English weather, but uses it to mature and age with grace and character
SOME MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED IN YEAR ONE in the first year the furniture needs some helps to balance its natural seasoning process. It will require regular oiling with boiled linseed oil (Morrells and Blackfriar are quality brands) and a scrub in localised areas should any tannic acid extrude from within the wood. After year one the wood can be left to develop its silvery hue, or sanded and oiled intermittently to retain its original colour
DELIVERY NOTICE please bear in mind that your oak furniture will be made-to-order, so we ask for a lead time of 28 days before delivery. Although it rarely happens, we do ask you to be empathetic if there are any delays with your order (hand-made production is less predictable than factory production). Naturally we will do our best to inform you if delays are foreseen, but we must stress that this is not a product for you if you are on a tight time schedule - this could lead to frustration and inconvenience
