HAND-MADE IN THE UK FROM NATURAL SLATE when your order is received a memo board is cut by hand using a wet cutting system for a chamfered edge. After cutting it is washed and finally finished with patination oil to enhance its rich natural colours. For those who choose to have a written header, the craftsman then applies the indelible wording to the surface. At this juncture it is not the best time for a slip of the hand, or a spelling mistake, but (mentioning no names) it has happened

USE INDOORS OR OUT the slate memo board will endure the British weather outdoors, and is equally happy being used indoors

EASY CLEAN simply wipe with a lightly soaped cloth

REVITALISE WITH TEAK OIL allow the slate to wear naturally or reinvigorate it with an application of teak oil

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE ORDERING we can't stress enough that our slate products are made from natural slate, not mainstream re-constituted slate. Slate is a metamorphic rock, 45 million years old, which contains various impurities such as fools gold metal impurities (black and gold interpolations created by the presence of iron) and fossil indentations. For these reasons, each hand-made product is entirely unique, and we kindly ask customers to understand that we are unable to control the colour consistency of the set they receive. In fact, we believe this would actually defy the point of the product, and its inherent natural beauty
